Panayota Chaloulakou grew up in Athens, Greece, where at a young age she started her musical training in the classical field taking classical piano, music theory, ear training, and tonal harmony lessons (Athens/Corfu, Greece).
From 1996 to 2001, she attended the Music Program of the Ionian University in Corfu, Greece, where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance in 2002.
In July 2000, she travelled to the United States to attend the five-week intensive summer program at Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA).
In March 2002, she was selected as a Fulbright grant recepient for graduate studies at the New England Conservatory in Boston, where she majored in Jazz Voice Performance (MM 04).
While in Greece and as a teenager, Panayota was a member of the professional Greek choir Fons Musicalis, performing with the Greek artists George Dalaras, Yiannis Markopoulos, Notis Mavroudis, and Vangelis Papathanasiou, among many others.
